about the activity of Babil Center
Babil Center was opened on 15/2/2006 where the
door of registration in the course announced by
the center was opened and they I the course of
teaching computer, the course of teaching
tailoring and sewing, the courses of teaching
English language and the course of eradication
of illiteracy) After completion of the
appropriate numbers to hold the courses we
notice that there is good interest in the
courses of computer, English language and sewing
and we noticed weak interest in the courses of
eradication of illiteracy, therefore we started
working in the course of computer English
language and saving and participations were
registered since opening the door of
registration and their numbers was large enough
to held courses in the three fielding (computer,
sewing, English language). The first group was
received and according to the numbers of each
course and informing the other registered with
the date of holding the second course and taking
the contacting them in order to inform them of
the dates of holding the course.
Thus three courses were holed in each of
(computer teaching, English language teaching,
dialogue and grammar), sewing teaching) during
the [period from 1/3/2006 up to 22/6/2006.
And below is table explaining the number of
participants in each of the three courses in the
field of (Computer, English Language, and
Sewing):

As
for what courses education in democracy and
human rights:
The first lectures was allocated for education
and the role of civil society organizations in
spreading the cultural of human rights and
establishing democracy, and a time was allocated
for discussion between the trainees and the
lectures, and there was also weakly seminars for
educating in democracy and human rights there
were also lectures concerning the Iraqi
constitution and explaining the chapter of
rights and freedoms and linking them the
principles of human rights and what is included
in the two international conventions pertaining
the civil and political rights and the social,
economical and cultural rights. And in order to
increase the information and encouraging the
trainees to read, an educational booklet was
distributed talking about rights and freedoms in
the constitution titled (1 and the
constitution).
And during the period from 28- 30/6/2006 the
coder of the center participated in the first
seminar about democracy and human rights which
was held in Baghdad.
Evaluation
of the Project
The
project was very good from the aspect of the aim
and the subjects thought in it through the
courses of computers, sewing and English
language and through the other educational
subjects about democracy and human rights, where
we noticed that there is continued increase by
participating to participate in the course of
the center.
We also noticed the inhabitants of the district
come at the end of each cover and they deliver a
speech praising the activity of the center and
the services it provides participating in
educating and developing people, men and women
and this in true participate in building
democratic Iraqi, and this indicates the success
of the work of the center.
The center provides all the services and
facilities which will achieve the aim of the
project and increase the ability, development
and education of members of our society of
children, women, men and youth. It is worth
mentioning that the center targets participants
of various sectors of society especially the
poor of them.
And we notice that during the three course held
in the center (140) participate were trounced
and educated, representing women, youth and
children and as shown below in the table.

d from the table above we noticed that the
project targets the women, youth and children
and we believe that targeting these sectors is
very important in our society therefore e
believe that the project is continuing in
achieving its aims in training and education.
As for what concerns the other technical
matters, our organization has endeavored to
provide all the requirements of holding the
courses of (computers, sewing and eradication of
illiteracy, and education in democracy and human
rights) of stationery, computer devices, sewing
machines, paper lectures, CDs for lectures and
usual aids, and the atmosphere is appropriate to
held courses, also covering the charges of
transportation of participants in each course
and this is fixed in the financial reports.
And the center is continuing is holding training
courses according to the new plan.
