In Cooperation with the Germany Friedrich Ebert and support from (UNOPS) and
mission of United Nations (UNAMI). The Iraqi Democratic Future Network which
representation by tammuz organization for social development in Iraq have done
through held (400) workshops in all governorates, It was through this training
workshop (10000) observers, within The Iraqi Democratic Future Network, To
preparation for the observation of the electoral process for election of
governorates councils and that election it will be held in 1/October /2008.
(100) workshops Has been implemented in the Baghdad governorate to train
observers for the forthcoming elections and the rest of the training workshops
conducted in all governorates of Iraq during the period from 1 / 3 until
5/4/2008, which managed by Tammuz organization for Social Development in all
cadres, specialists in the field of training observers for the elections from
the Future Network.
Workshops focus on the key principles to explain and publicize the aim of how to
conduct surveillance and monitoring elections, rights and duties and role of
observers in accordance with the laws of Independent Higher Commission of
Elections (IHEC), in addition to the participation of trainees in small
workshops especially practical training on how to monitoring election day and
everything related to the monitoring and preparations and flags and .. .. Other
things.
The process of training trainers who have already participated in the sessions
and preparation have been trained by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the
United Nations in Amman during the past months.
The implementation of this training workshop the first phase of the project and
the second phase will take place when the observation process when the voters
registration and election day.
It should be noted that the Tammuz Organization has already worked a lot of
projects and activities related to previous elections in Iraq have Training and
monitoring of three elections (the National Assembly, a referendum on the
constitution and the election of members of the Iraqi parliament) after having
been trained observers in Amman and the whole of Iraq. In addition to
implementing many of the activities related to awareness and education elections
and the need to participate and the importance of the Constitution, explained
the draft before the referendum process.
