Tammuz organization’s active strategy that has the people benefits in front      

Tammuz organization began its activities as beneficiary organization to support and financial support for needy in Kurdistan region during the period of siege in the ex-regime. The organization found later that the person who receives the assistance becomes inactive in the community. Therefore, we found that it is necessary to develop those individuals to be active members in the community. On other words, transforming the individual from the negative and dormant state to active contribution in the community. In this sense, the community retrieve its feeling in the worthiness in organizational, civil and political activities.

   For this purpose, Tammuz organization reshaped its goals to be more democracy oriented and to put this goal in practice, the organization focus began to be on modeling programs that nourish the training on democracy and establishing civil society associations to build capacities and develop the abilities of the organization to perform its role actively and vigorously.

We can say now after the long run we had before that the mission of the organization has changed drastically. The beneficiary impression of the organization has transformed to developmental. The goals now are training, development and rehabilitation of member to be active members in the society. The organization currently umbrages wide range of relations with other networks. The organization sees more significant goals such as the ways of transforming from the traditional form to an organization has concrete relations with others and has ties to help press and claim for the needs of the people and advocate their basic rights. The goals of the organization now are triggered from the needs of people and not from vacuum. Certainly, the organization faced impediments and obstacles accompanied the political process and the complications of this period that we can utilize from in the next stage. It is worth to mention that the organization could enhance and build concrete relations with others as follows:

v  The assistance in developing the public organizations by means of maintaining and enhancing a network of relations and efficient cooperation among these organization in the network. The cooperation aims to guide various goals of these organizations to serve the ultimate goal of social development, democracy and serving people as well as advocating various and urgent needs for those people.

v  Choosing the active and efficient members to implement the projects and preserving continuous relations with them and disregarding the seasonal and or opportunistic issues to contact them. This step requires necessary thinking of finding the suitable projects in the provinces and avoiding focusing on some provinces in particular to reducing the social marginalization that characterized the ex-regime.

v  Strengthening and maintaining with those who received training or being delegated abroad to have qualitative training as well as the benefit and experience that those people will input in the organization record in the future.

v  The organization supports, present back-up and builds capacities for individuals and groups to be the organizer of those people to help guide them to uplift its duties in building the society.

v  Enhancing the relations with people. This goals of the organization is performed by developing our patterns continually and working to be far of the generalizations in casting our goals and programs that we seek always to attract people and solve their problems and serving the real purposes in the society. The organization aims to mobilize the people to make these programs civil society in application.

v  Previewing any project we implement and checking its compatibility with our strategic future plan.

v  Coordinating and working with other organizations to build the human capacities in our country and qualifying people to have vital role in reconstructing Iraq that has democracy and human rights and state of law and has more civil society institutions and more respect to the concepts of civilization and urbanization

v  Unleashing the human power and developing it and involving people in the development projects and planning to raise the mutual and voluntarily work.

v  Preparation, rehabilitation and training of human resources in the fields of civil society development.

v  The cooperation and coordinating with foreign organizations and having active participation in the environmental activities those aim to build better and clearer environment. The organization is working to oppose all types of violence and terrorism and calling for peace and seeking for globalized humanity where its ultimate goal is human being as a replacement for the wild capitalism. In this sense,, we will be part of the global civil society movement that expresses its deep understanding of our national and democratic issues and its collaboration

v  Taking  part in the foreign and national campaigns to make the changes necessary for concepts, programs, visions and policies in different fields, including activating the role of woman and her active participation in the social, work, economic and environmental fields.

v  awareness of considering this strategy as superficial or degrading it and changing our organization into a small non-governmental one which is concerned with superficial issues, trying to be funded, trained and associated with similar associations. This makes us out of the social movement and without influence on the society as a result.
