The activities of the
organization in the field of elections
(The Most important
activities and achievements of Tammuz Organization for social
development in the field of electoral awareness and the importance
of the Constitution and the role of the High Commission IEC)
1. Strengthening women's participation in
elections by held workshops educational centers in the provinces
and districts of them for the period from August to November 2004.
2. Forming teams of outreach to educate student’s
elections between universities and institutes in Baghdad and the
coordination and approval of the presidency universities.
3. Monitoring of the National Assembly
elections in 2005-1-30, through the making of Tammuz network to
monitor the elections, which have been approved by the Office of the
Independent Electoral Commission, which joined the network in 1875
observers throughout Iraq to ensure free and fair elections and
transparent. This project has been implemented in collaboration with
the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the German financing of the
United Nations and the European Union.
4. Educational workshops on the Constitution,
to educate citizens in the importance of the Constitution and their
role in the writing of the referendum as well as discussing the
draft constitution, our org. cooperation with the German Friedrich
Ebert Foundation and the UNOPS to held workshops 160 in the All
governorates of Iraq has been funded five workshops them by the
Organization International Alliance for Justice.
5. Conference on the Constitution, include
women's rights in cooperation with the Organization (MPDL) 8/04/2005
in Spanish.
6. Project of prepared the lawyers trained
on human rights and the Constitution and the financing of the United
Nations Mission for Iraq UNAMI in August 2005.
7. Educational information program on the
Constitution and the role of women as it was to program for a month
in Al-nas radio which broadcast in most of governorates of Iraq.
8. Interactive conferences to discuss the draft
constitution: a discussion held six conferences to discuss the
draft constitution with a number of decision-makers, politicians and
representatives of community organizations and MPs, in October 2005
and in each of the provinces: Baghdad, Missan, Basra, Nasiriyah and
Irbil.
9. 10000 printed educational brochure on the
Constitution entitled (I and the Constitution) in collaboration with
the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the UNOPS.
10. Held campaign on the Constitution
through paste media and distribution of educational pamphlets to
citizens in the provinces of Irbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk, Kirkuk and
Nineawah.
11. Monitoring referendum process on the
Iraqi Constitution that took place in 15/10/2005, through Tammuz
network to observe the elections by (5400) observer in the
governorates of Iraq with the support and financing from four
international organizations: the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the
United Nations UNOPS, PPF British and international status Palma
Center Palma.
12. Monitoring of the Iraqi National Assembly
elections in 15/12/2005 also in collaboration with the Friedrich
Ebert Foundation, and support from the United Nations, where the
number of observers in the Tammuz network were (5600) volunteers of
both sexes throughout Iraq have been trained by and worked within
our four regional offices namely: Baghdad, Nasiriyah, Basra and
Erbil.
13. Our org. cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert
Foundation and the Organization of UNOPS, held (12) workshop to
discuss constitutional amendments expected Hence a special
conference constitutional amendments in collaboration with other
Iraqi organizations.
14. Courses to prepare trainers for election
monitors: the preparation of our trainers training on
observation of the elections, through the involvement of its members
in preparation courses, trainers, held in Amman by the European
Union in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, where
participated (460) member from our Organization in such courses.
15. Inviting representatives from the
Organization to the Netherlands to learn and see how the
configuration of the elections and the role of civil society
organizations in this.
16. The participation of our members in an Iraqi
delegation for the German elections in September 2005.
17. Participating in the courses on the
elections and found held in Bologna in October 2005.
18. The meeting with the United Nations Mission
to investigate the outcome of the recent elections on the request of
the mission itself, where our Iraqi organization that was taking its
election has been published in the report of the international
mission.
